Oplatek ZNP at the Polish Museum
On Sunday, January 17, 2010, the Polish Museum in Chicago held its traditional teachers’ wafer. The ceremony was attended by members of the Association of Polish Teachers in America
and people friendly to the organization, including Vice Consul Aleksandra Krystek and Rev. Miroslaw Bożek.
The attendees were welcomed by the chairman of ZNP, Ms. Ewa Koch, and invited to visit the museum.
The guide through the halls was the director of the Polish Museum himself, Mr. Jan Loryś, who paid special attention to the restored Paderewski Hall.
After returning, the children’s group ” Słoneczka” from our school performed in front of the assembled. With group singing, as well as solo singing, the children put everyone gathered in the mood for caroling. It was a source of pride and satisfaction for our teachers participating in this wonderful event.
After caroling together, it was time for refreshments and making New Year’s wishes.
The ceremony was also attended by representatives of Polvision TV and Polish Radio 10.30. The stations sponsored the ” Teacher of the Year 2009″ contest organized by the Oak Lawn Mazda car dealership.
The contest was settled, and the winners received attractive prizes.
