The decision to sew protective masks was made by Agnes Boateng Gubas (Agnieszka Gubas) on March 26, the day she received an email from Jo-Ann Store Fabric and Craft offering volunteers to join a national campaign to sew masks for medical personnel, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic raging in American cities and around the world.
