For fifteen years, the Polish Pulaski School has been organizing an annual competition for the most beautiful Christmas tree decoration and Christmas crib.
This year, the competition entries were accepted until December 2.
29 Christmas decorations and 9 Christmas nativity scenes were submitted to the competition.
On December 9, the competition was settled, while the list of winners was solemnly announced only during the school Christmas Eve, December 16.
The most interesting works were selected by a voting committee chaired by the well-known Chicago sculptor Stefan Niedorezo.
The six-person committee consisted of: Agata Wozny – school president, Agata Michałkiewicz – school director, Marlena Szalast – school vice-president, Józef Lisak – member of the school board and Grażyna Kołtyś and Jolanta Plesiewicz – teachers and organizers of the competition.
Before the evaluators was a very difficult task, because the work was distinguished by originality and diligence of execution.
Particular attention of the jury was drawn to: a bauble glued with a colorful can, a nutty hedgehog and intricate stars.
The vast majority of participants in this year’s competition were students of younger classes.
For the fourth time, in the category of Christmas nativity scenes took part high school student – Christopher Dobrzycki, whose nativity scene and this time took the first place.
The emotions and joy of the winners after the announcement of the results were enormous, as was the pride of parents and educators.
It is worth noting that due to the great interest in the competition, in the category of Christmas nativity scenes among the youngest students, as well as the jubilee, the school management honored all children who took part in this category with awards.
In accordance with the provisions of the regulations, each participant of the competition received a diploma and a sweet gift, and the winners additionally received cash prizes.
Christmas nativity scenes were displayed in the hall where the school Christmas Eve was celebrated, and competition ornaments decorated the Christmas tree.
