How good that the tradition of the prom, what a Polish celebration, has been so permanently adopted by our Polish community. Students of high school graduating classes are looking forward to this party with longing, because, as communal rumor has it, the Prom always succeeds in 102. This year’s Prom was held on February 13 at the Drury Lane Banquet Hall in Oakbrook Terrace, and the event was organized by the Polish School of St. John. Ignacy J. Paderewski in Niles.
Students of our school “drive” to the ball with dignity, because specially hired for this purpose limousine, you can say that “with singing on the lips”.
The festivities begin with official speeches and demonstrations of national dances, then everyone is invited to a tasty dinner, and after the food comes the dancing. Young people enjoy themselves to the rhythms of disco dances
and the culminating part of the program was the passage of the students through the huge number 100 set up on the dance floor, to the sound of the Red Guitars’ song “Just one year from now for high school graduation.” At this ball, there is also a drawing for a special prize, which is a scholarship for college, and this year those who failed to draw a scholarship received a Multimedia Dictionary donated by the Polish Community. The party lasts until midnight and always ends on time. Pupils of the School named after him. Gen. K. Pulaski always behave appropriately, there was never any reason to be ashamed of them.
In the 2010/2011 school year, the organizer of the Prom will be the Polish School named after the late Stefan Kossak. Gen. Kazimierz Pulaski, or our wonderful Alma Mater. The Parent Committee, teachers and students therefore face a big task,
to organize a celebration that is beautiful and memorable for its participants.
