Celebrating 70 years at the Polish School named after Gen. Kazimierz Pulaski

– On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Polish School named after him. Gen. The Presidential Couple of Poland sent special wishes and congratulations to the school from the Kazimierz Pulaski School in sub-Chicago’s Harwood Heights. The Association of Polish Teachers in America honored teachers and catechists with certificates of appreciation. The ceremony featured a performance by the “Wici” Dance and Music Theater, a representative ensemble of the Polish National Alliance (PNA).
Celebrated on October 23 this year. 70th anniversary. The anniversary of the Polish School named after him. General Casimir Pulaski in Harwood Heights fit perfectly into the series of ceremonies celebrating Polish Heritage Month.
The ceremony, held in Conrad Hall, in the school’s main building, began with the introduction of the banner.
Students of the final year of high school proudly represented the school in the post office: Anita Mikolajczyk, Alexander Walawender and Julia Koziol.
After playing the national anthems – of Poland and the United States, Director Agata Michalkiewicz welcomed more than 90 guests to the anniversary event.
A minute of silence was observed in memory of those who have passed away and were associated with the school.

Agata Grochowska, Polish Consul in Chicago, read out a message from the presidential couple of Poland, First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda and President Andrzej Duda addressed to the teaching staff, board of directors, parents and students of the Polish School of Frederic Chopin. Gen. Kazimierz Pulaski in Harwood Heights.
In the letter, the presidential couple offered their congratulations, expressing their highest appreciation for the generations of Poles who created and develop the school. “The school in Harwood Heights is the oldest Polish school operating in the Chicago metropolitan area – the largest Polish community in the United States. This gives an idea of the extremely important role that your institution plays in the life of the Polish community in the United States. We are very impressed by your merits in the cultivation of native speech, culture and traditions, in the dissemination of knowledge of Polish history and contemporary achievements of the independent Republic and the achievements of the ten-million-strong community of people of Polish descent in America.”
The presidential couple, conveying warm congratulations, wished that the inspiring figure of the patron General Kazimierz Pulaski, a hero of Polish and American history, would lead the school to further outstanding achievements.
