First place for the School of Name. Gen. Kaziemierza Pulaski – congratulations and thank you Brajan Hendzel!
The Association of Polish Teachers in America organized the XX recitation competition under the slogan
“Beautiful our whole Poland” and as the above main idea suggests, the poems concerned the subject of our Homeland. The eliminations took place on March 5 in the building of the Polish School of Poland. Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński in Chicago. The competition was conducted in five age categories from the O class to the high school classes, and the total number of participants reached a record number of 103 people. The jury evaluated the memory mastery of the work, interpretation, diction and general artistic expression.
Our school was represented by three students – Angelika Popiełuszko from class 3, Aleksandra Kajderowicz from class 6 and Brajan Hendzel from class 2 of high school. It was the latter who won the first place in his age group for wisława Szymborska’s daringly recited poem “Gawęda o miłości ziemi ojczystej”. Brajan, having won the competition on Sunday, did not expect that on Tuesday he would be able to be a guest in the program of Mr. Krzysztof Arsenowicz in Polvision, who, as one of the members of the jury, decided to honor the winners of the first places. Impressions from the TV studio will remain in the memory of all invited participants of the competition for a long time. Certainly, however, the emotions that became the part of everyone present at the final gala, which took place a week later, will remain forever. At that time, the winners presented their recitative skills in front of a large audience.
Thank you to our wonderful students Angelica, Ola and Brajan for participating in the competition, we are proud of your commitment and skills.
