Holiday memories – 10 November 2012

It was an extremely exciting day that we were all eagerly awaiting.
The day of settling the first photo and art competition in the history of our school “Memories of holidays”.
Each of its forty-seven participants knew that voting for the submitted works would last until the end of October.
However, none of us knew the date of its official settlement.
On Saturday, just before Thanksgiving, just after the first hour of school activities, all students of our school were invited to a large hall.
There, the co-organizers and sponsors of the competition, Mr. Gregory Handzel and Mr. Lucjan Bogdanski, were already waiting for us: – the owner and general manager of the insurance company; Handzel & Associates Ltd.
On the forum of the whole school – first all participants of the competition were asked to go to the middle of the room. Everyone named received congratulations, a gift and an entrance ticket to the Polish Museum in Chicago.
Then seven people were honored – the authors of the best works, who were presented with special awards and diplomas.

The winner of the competition was Cyprian Szalast and his photo “Hmmm, what we will build” receiving as many as 332 votes!
Cyprian received 4 tickets to a Chicago Bulls basketball game at the United Center.

The second place went to Rafał Raszewski. 36 people voted for his drawing “Together with dad on the road”.

Third place was taken by Max Lesny and the photo “It was a ride” – Nuevo VallartaMexico – 34 votes.

The second and third place winners received 4 entrance tickets each to the performances of the circus “Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey”.

In fourth place was Aneta Klocek and her drawing “Cool holidays” – 33 votes. Aneta’s work was awarded an iTunes card worth $30.

The fifth place was taken ex aequo by 3 people, each of them receiving 26 votes.
Among them were:

– Victoria Klocek and the drawing “Beach Holiday”
– Jakub Lesny and the photo “Fun on the waves”
– Julia Miezal and the photo “Disneyland

Full of impressions, we returned to the school classrooms, with great hope that in the new school year there will again be a chance to win the award for holiday memories retained in the frameJ
