We write poems

In the school year 2011- 2012, in one of the Polish language lessons, students of class 7a,
currently 8a wrote their poems.
The poetic event was inspired by the works of Wislawa Szymborska.
Students worked on the basis of a poem titled: “Some people like poetry.”
In place of the gaps in the original poem, each student was to add his own poetic reflections.
In addition, it was allowed to make small changes to the original version of the poem by adding a more fitting word or deleting an existing one.
None of the writers had prior knowledge of the original title of the poem or its content.
Here is the result of our poetic play.
Below is a poem written by Alexander Paszkowski.
Jola Plesiewicz

Ah, those old ladies

Some – old ladies
i.e. grandmothers
They don’t even know
like to count
for these people it is too difficult

They like – to drink tea
but they also like to sleep
like to snore
don’t like people on skateboards
Ah, those old ladies …

Some – old ladies
i.e. grandmothers
They don’t even know
like to count
for these people it is too difficult

They like – eat crackers
But they also like to put them in soup
also have dentures
and they have to be careful
because they will fall into their soup
Ah, those old ladies.

Some – old ladies
i.e. grandmothers
They don’t even know
like to count
for these people it is too difficult

Pity
That we have such people
but in a few years
we will be the same
and children will write about us
Ah, those old ladies.
