Contest on the patron saint of our school – General Casimir Pulaski settled!
Thirty-two people took part in the competition. They were students from elementary school grades as well as high school.
The rules of the competition allowed various forms of artistic expression.
The submissions were dominated by artwork, made using various techniques, and poems. Some works combined both forms.
On January twenty-first, 2012, all of the works were displayed at a banquet celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Polish School of St. Thomas. General Casimir Pulaski at the Drury Lane banquet hall in Oakbrook Terrace. Thanks to this, the works of our students could be admired not only by teachers or parents, actively working on the Board of Directors of our school, but also by guests invited to the banquet.
Some of the works were also included in the school diary published in connection with our school’s anniversary.
On Saturday, March third, 2012, we celebrated our school’s annual Pulaski Day holiday.
It was also the day of the final awarding of the competition. On that day, the competition works again decorated the school corridor.
At subsequent breaks, students voted for the most interesting ones.
In the end, the student jury awarded three grand prizes and four honorable mentions.
Among the winners of the competition about Casimir Pulaski were the following students:
Jakub Lesny, a student of Class III, who received the first prize
Roxana Lech, a student of high school class I, winner of the second prize
Natalia Gorlicka, a student of class VIII, who was awarded the third prize
Honorable mentions were awarded to: Kamil Romanek, class III, Ola Dabkowski, class III, Lilia Radzik, class VIII, and Kamila Czachorowski, class VIII.
The teachers of our school unanimously decided that all participants in the competition at the end of the school year, along with their certificates, will receive certificates of appreciation for taking part in the competition.
