Confirmation is one of the sacraments of Christian initiation.
The effect of receiving this sacrament is a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit like that which was given to the Apostles on the day of Pentecost.
The sacrament of Confirmation confirms Baptism, strengthens baptismal grace, unites us to Christ and his Church, and multiplies in us the gifts of the Holy Spirit, thereby strengthening us in the profession of the Christian faith.
An essential rite of Confirmation is the anointing with the holy chrism, which takes place with the laying on of the hand and the utterance of the sacramental words:
“Receive the mark of the gift of the Holy Ghost”
In May this year, after two years of careful preparation, led by Sister Anna, a group of young people from our school received the sacrament of Confirmation.
The ceremony took place in the Church of St. Rosalie and its minister was Bishop Andrzej Wypych.
