Firefighters from the Norwood Park Fire Department visit our school.

We all know that safety is a very important thing, but not everyone knows how to behave to be safe. On Saturday, September 30, 2017. we hosted in our school representatives of one of the very responsible professions – firefighters. The youngest students of our school had the opportunity to learn what the work of firefighters looks like and what equipment firefighters use when performing it. A big attraction for the children was watching fire engines and ambulances. The biggest surprise, however, was the opportunity to see the fire truck from the inside and try on a firefighter’s helmet. Gentlemen Firefighters were very eager to answer children’s questions, at the same time providing a lot of valuable information on compliance with safety rules. The children learned that the work of a firefighter is hard physical work, often performed in difficult weather conditions and hard-to-reach places, so candidates must demonstrate excellent health, physical condition and strength. Emergency numbers have been recorded as well as in what circumstances the fire brigade can be called. It is thanks to such meetings that children learn about the hard and responsible work of a firefighter and learn how to take care not only of their own but also of the safety of others.

We would like to thank The Commandant Mr. Artur Koszczuk and his colleagues from the Norwood Park Fire Department for their visit to our school.
