Historical Competition 2014

At the turn of April and May 2014, it was held for the first time at the school. Gen. Casimir Pulaski in Harwood Heights historical competition. It was attended by students of grades 5-8 and I and II of the high school. The competition was divided into two stages in 5 age groups: 1 group class 5a and 5b, 2 group class 6a, 3 group class 7a, group class 8a, group 5 class I and II high school.

The first stage of the competition was a multiple-choice test, which contained different content of historical questions for individual age groups. It was aimed at checking the historical knowledge of students taking into account the epochs developed in history lessons in the school year 2013/2014. The tests were prepared on the basis of Witold Bobiński’s “History of Polish” textbooks used in history lessons. To qualify for the second stage, students had to write a test and get the largest number of correct answers to the questions contained in the test. Teachers conducting classes in individual classes were responsible for preparing students for the competition. Teachers also assessed the tests and selected three students who went to the second stage: the multimedia presentation of the so-called “multimedia presentation”. Power Point.

20 students qualified for the semi-finals of the historical competition. In the second stage, the semi-finalists from each age group were given a choice of two historical figures characteristic of the era discussed in the history lessons. After selecting one of them, they prepared presentations at home and presented it in class on the day of the final. A committee consisting of teachers of particular age groups and school management selected the winners of the competition. Among the winners were seventeen students who prepared the most interesting presentations.
