As part of the celebrations of this year’s Polish Bilingual Day on October 21 and 22, students of grades I-IV of our school went to the fairy-tale musical “In the Enchanted Forest of Little Red Riding Hood”.

We saw an extremely ingenious version of one of the first fairy tales that we heard as children, and which we still tell to our little ones. In the enchanted forest, Kapturek met not only a wolf and a grove, but also the Queen of Hearts, the funny Pippi and the wooden pinocchio. We are very proud and congratulate our student – Maya Mendez played the role of Pippi in the performance. We would like to thank Mrs. Kinda Modjeska and Scena Polonia for the enormity of impressions, for colorful costumes, humor and fantasy.

This kind of trip was a vivid way of giving children born outside the Polish a piece of our Polishness, showing how important and valuable it is to have the ability to speak and understand another language.
