It’s me little freshman student

The oath-taking and the student’s passing is a momentous and important event at the Polish School named after the late Stefan B. G., the first of its kind in Poland. Gen. K. Pulaski in Harwood Heights. On Saturday, November 20, 2021, 26 first graders uttered the rote of the solemn oath to become students of the school. It was a special day not only for our first-graders, but also for their proud teachers, anxious parents, siblings and touched grandparents. The artistic part of this event was prepared by the educators of the first classes: Ms. Bożena Król and Krystyna Wysocki. The ceremony was conducted by eighth grade student Angelika Popieluszko. During the artistic performance, the first graders recited poems and sang songs with great dedication, and presented the knowledge and skills they have acquired in the first two months of school. They then took the solemn pledge to the school’s banner. They vowed to be good students and Poles, to represent their school and class with dignity, to bring joy to parents and teachers with their behavior and learning. After the oath, the act of being belted as a student of the Polish School named after the founder of the school. Gen. K. Pulaski by touching each child’s arm with a large pencil, was carried out by the director – Agata Michalkiewicz. Each student then left a fingerprint next to his or her name on the pages of the school chronicle. First-graders were wished and parents congratulated by the school’s headmistress and board president Agata Wozny. During the ceremony, the little heroes received diplomas and commemorative backpacks filled with gifts. After commemorative photos were taken, the school’s youngest students and their parents were invited to refreshments. We wish all first graders that the 2021/22 school year will be the beginning of an educational adventure they will remember years later. We congratulate the parents on their wonderful kids.

Our sincere thanks to all those who contributed with their help to the organization of the event.
