Only brave individuals should teach. Only those who love young people should teach. Teaching is a vocation. There is as much of self-sacrifice in him as there is in the priesthood. It is a desire as deeply rooted and as inevitable as the genius who guides the fate of the great artist. Therefore, if one has no regard for humanity, if one does not have love for living beings, the vision of a priest and an artist, one must not teach.

National Education Day, popularly known as Teacher’s Day, is a celebration of teachers, educators, educators and other education workers that we have been celebrating since 1972. It commemorates the anniversary of the establishment of the National Education Commission, which was created on the initiative of King Stanisław August Poniatowski in 1773. The National Education Commission (KEN) is the first ministry of education in Europe to reform education.
Teacher’s Day is celebrated in almost most countries in the world, for example in Brazil – October 15, in China – September 10, in Spain on November 27, in India – September 5, in Mexico – on May 15, and in Poland – on October 14. It is a holiday that both teachers and students are happy to celebrate, because it is a special day for both of them.
At the Polish School of Gen. Casimir Pulaski Teacher’s Day was celebrated on October 19. The celebrations began with an academy, during which the School Management and Board thanked the entire teaching staff and administrative staff for their perseverance in fulfilling the teaching mission and shaping the minds and hearts of young people. The wishes were complemented by symbolic roses and sweets. In the artistic part, the students presented their recitation, dance and instrument skills, thanking the teachers for the effort put into their education. The students’ performances undoubtedly graced and colored this special day. The scenario of the academy was prepared by the teachers of this school: Mrs. Bożena Kargol-Chomiczewski and Mr. Wiesław Sawicki At the end, the teaching staff was invited to lunch, prepared by the School Board, and all children were given sweet gifts. Everyone hopes that the initiative will continue in the coming years.
